About four hours ago, Michael Fornabaio, a reporter covering the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for the Connecticut Post, tweeted that Ty Wishart left Bridgeport’s 2-1 OT win against Connecticut with his bags packed.
With an upcoming road trip to Winnipeg and St. Louis there’s a good chance that Wishart will be recalled to either provide backup in case a defenseman succumbs to injury, or because there’s a defenseman in the group that hasn’t supremely impressed the last few games, and Capuano will look to scratch that particular defenseman to clear space for Wishart. The third option is for Capuano to decide to send Ness back down, and play Wishart instead, however I believe this to be the unlikeliest option as Ness has fared as well as anyone could’ve hoped in his first few games.
Taking a look at past ice time, it seems that Eaton and Jurcina are the likeliest of the candidates to be scratched if Wishart will be inserted in the roster. Ness saw his ice time jump to 18 and 20 minutes the past few games, while Eaton and Jurcina saw their ice time drop to 15 and 17 minutes respectively.
